Bucks DA
The Bucks DA first talk of the year was by Jason Ralph – Smith of Autopot fame. The talk was highly informative and went down well with the audience. He generously left the pots used in the talk behind and said we can use them to raise funds for the DA.
By the time you read this article
the Bucks DA would have held their AGM, David Thornton is due to do a re-arranged talk entitled Fertilizers for the Kitchen Garden after the AGM. On March 19th we are welcoming to the Bucks DA Andrew Mikolajski who is
due to do a talk on the history of apples, apples in commerce, and why we should be growing them in the gardens. Andrew is a gardening writer
with over 20 years`
experience of writing,
editing, lecturing, and
speaking. He is an
author of 40 gardening
titles, contributor to
gardening magazines
and RHS website.
At the last committee
meeting we were finalising the Bucks DA program for the rest of the year, which

will include our usual two garden visits and two more talks. The first of these
of the year is on November 19th where Gareth Hopcraft is due to a talk entitled Ecothrive Coir – alternative to peat.
On Saturday 13th January, four Bucks DA members including myself went to the first Midland committee meeting at their new venue, the village hall South Hinksey, near Oxford. It was easy to find and there is a large car park opposite. Looking forward to going to the Midland AGM due to take place there on March 16th at the same venue.

right word as I understand this is there first vegetable related talk. Our final talk
