QPrep founders Quentin (‘Q’) Nicholls and Steve Baker initially focused on the renovation of classic cars and motor sport support as well as engineering fabrication for a number of large customers. As time has passed, demand has moved more toward classic car servicing, engine rebuilds, and diagnostic services, although there is usually at least one long-term restoration in the workshop at any one time.
When was QPrep established? QPrep was established in 2011 although we have been here in this building since 2004 .
Tell us more...We take an engineering approach to diagnosis and fault finding. Rather than just endlessly swapping parts in and out of a failing vehicle, the team will seek to identify the root cause of a problem and fix it. QPrep also have the ability to re-make many obsolete parts.
What made you choose Oundle? I have lived here since 1977 and Oundle is by far the nicest, safest place that I have ever lived.
Any plans to expand further? We are presently at a stage where expansion is inevitable, as there are so many classic vehicle owners locally requiring our services.
What is the best thing about your job? The massive variety of work that comes through our doors, and seeing an owner leave our workshops happy in the knowledge that their pride and joy is looked after whilst in our care.
Describe your business in five words:
Engineering problem solvers, motor enthusiasts. Favourite types of work? Any mechanical work on old cars and bikes. However, due to
the impending closure of the main garage in
Oundle, we are also working on more modern
