It was good to see so many of you in and around St James on Charter Fair Day and in St Nicholas for the Flower Festival. Thanks must go to everyone who helped in any way to welcome people into the churches.
Congratulations go to Rev. Andy Stilwell who was ordained to full time ministry in Peterborough Cathedral at the beginning of July. Before ordination, Andy worked in the outdoor activities industry before becoming a youth worker.
Andy trained on the dispersed learning pathway at Trinity College, Bristol, which developed and stretched his theology and faith. He has spent his Deacon year in Thrapston on the A14/A605 crossroads in a benefice of three churches and both the church and the town have a lot more going on than he expected! Andy is married
to Lucy and they have three teenage children. Together they all enjoy the outdoors; walking, paddle boarding, canoeing, climbing, anything that is outdoors and adventurous, before relaxing with a movie or a board game. Andrew is serving his curacy in the benefice of Thrapston, Denford & Islip
August is a holiday month for many and some of our church activities will be taking a break but we will still be here on Sundays, Tuesdays and Saturdays so why not join us for a service?
On Saturday 3rd August, there’s the popular Indoor Market in the Church Hall from 9.00am- 1.00pm. There are new stalls all the time.
The Women’s Fellowship is planning a talk and walk meeting this month – meet in church at 7.15pm on Wednesday August 7th and then take a stroll with friends or stay in church to chat, whichever suits you better. Our meetings are settling onto the first Wednesday of each month so book the dates now.
Our other regular church activities continue throughout August so pop in and see us on a Tuesday or Saturday morning for coffee and a chat (10am-12 noon). You’ll be very welcome and it’s a good chance to meet new people. There is usually a short Communion Service in the Chancel on Tuesday mornings from 9.45am-10.15am.
Another popular place to meet and chat is knitting on Monday evenings. No need to book just come along to St James Church on Monday evenings from 6.30pm-8.00pm. All ages welcome!
Praise and Play is taking a break until
the beginning of September. Several of our members have graduated to big school and pre- school so we wish them every blessing as they move on to new activities. We hope everyone has a wonderful summer holiday.
