Charity Shop
The Age UK Northamptonshire charity shop in Thrapston has been raising vital funds and supporting the community for over 30 years. Manager Tracy Peploe, who has worked at
the shop for 20 years, and her team always try to join in local events and get a lot of satisfaction from putting together creative window displays. As previous winners of the Charter Fair trophy, they thoroughly enjoyed creating this year’s magnificent display in June on the theme of the 1990s and also ran their stall as usual on the day.
Tracy, Dianne and their volunteers also supported Thrapston library’s Summer Reading Challenge by filling the window with children’s
books in July.
Age UK Northamptonshire relies on its eight
charity shops in the county for roughly 15% of its income and could not manage without the hard work of around 240 volunteers. Elizabeth Curtis is the Thrapston shop’s longest serving volunteer, having chalked up an amazing 25 years of service this year.
