The town of Oundle has many features of which we should be proud. Its independent shops, schools, architecture, sports facilities and cultural life. Amongst the latter, Oundle and District u3a should not be overlooked.

   The beauty of the u3a movement, whose strapline is ‘Learn, laugh, live’
is that it is what you make it; in fact, I would go as far as to say that it can be all things to all people (as long as they are not in full-time work!). You may join one of the many interest groups or attend the monthly meetings to hear visiting speakers on a wide variety of subjects. Additionally, you can choose to go on an outing to a place of interest or a performance.

Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month from 2pm to 4pm in the Queen Victoria Hall, West Street.

the interest groups range from Mah Jong to Pétanque to Military History or even Art Appreciation. Recent speakers have given talks on Walt Disney and ‘Thirty Years of Travel in China’. These outings have included visits to Ely Cathedral, the Cromwell House, and the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire,
followed by an interesting talk, so why not come along to find out more?
