ART IN THE CHURCH
at Stoke Doyle
Inspired by nature ‘Art in the Church’ – an Autumn Exhibition, features work from artists Steve Cussons, Fiona Cumberpatch, Karin Forman, Victoria Maddocks, Claire Morris- Wright and Ange Mullins. The exhibition is further enhanced by recorded nature sounds from musicians Chris Watson & David de la Haye.
The exhibition takes place at St Rumbald’s Church in Stoke Doyle (PE8 5TH), a Grade II listed building and a fine example of Georgian architecture. Nestled in the picturesque village of Stoke Doyle, close to the River Nene and Oundle town, it is on the edge of East Northamptonshire. The church’s interior is light and airy with a welcoming, peaceful atmosphere, and offers a perfect setting for an art exhibition.
‘Art in the Church’ is the first time these
six artists have come together to exhibit their nature inspired work. It is the idea of artist Ange Mullins, who lives in Stoke Doyle village and draws much of her creative inspiration from the countryside surrounding the church and village. This exhibition will show how differing artistic approaches can be unified by a singular source of inspiration: that of the natural world, and it includes a diverse range of work and mediums including, print, collage, acrylic, textile and watercolour.
