ADVERTORIAL
 Classic transformation
Classic Stamford have recently carried out three projects on a lovely old Stonehouse, in one of the quaintest local villages and have completely transformed it with a fabulous new kitchen, garden room and three very slim aluminium patio sliders.
Rich and Kate have lived in this lovely home for six years now, and recently they decided it was time to re-think the lifestyle options that their home could offer. First, they set to thinking about how to change the kitchen area. Whilst the space was already substantial and attractive, with some great stonework features, the kitchen was in need of an update, and they were looking for a more contemporary design and more storage space. And, in particular, Kate wanted a pantry, and Rich wanted dedicated space for storing wine.
Beautiful new kitchen
They commissioned Classic Stamford to work up a design, taking into account their requirements and being cognisant of the fact that there were no straight walls in this historic property! ‘Dan
was in charge of the overall kitchen design and installation,’ Kate told us, ‘and he has an absolutely meticulous eye for detail. He is also willing to adapt and fine tune as the work progresses, with the later addition of a beautiful glass display unit at the end of the units being an example. We were also very impressed by the carpenter... his attention to detail was unbelievable. I gave him proper coffee and biscuits all the time, I was so happy with the work.’
The result is breathtaking – very sleek, minimalist and in a stunning graphite hue. We also loved the table at the end of the central kitchen unit – a normal-height table with chairs opposite each other, so very suitable for all family meals. In some ways a refreshing change from the eponymous island.
‘Whilst there had previously been three sets of old timber bi-folding doors opening out onto the garden, with some excellent advice from Spud at Classic Stamford, we had these changed to three sets of very slim sliding patio doors, which have helped to bring so much more light into the house and also make the garden so much better.’

it is for home working or quiet time out. ABOVE: dedicated space for storing wine includes an integrated wine cooler and bespoke inbuilt wine rack.
