THE WEST
This is the last entry from the short-lived West Region. From the next edition of
The Bugle, news from the counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire. Bristol and Somerset will be found within the pages
of either the South West or the Midlands.
In part this situation comes about from the retirement of the Rifles Secretary West after more than fourteen years at the Taunton
office of The Rifles. For the foreseeable future the Taunton office remains with Mrs Debbie Hards (aotaunton@the-rifles.co.uk) working to both the regional secretary
at Exeter and the regional secretary at Shrewsbury.
It was great to see strong representation from the West at The Rifles Awards Dinner. Similarly, further events in Somerset,
It can be invidious to mention names but the loss

Gloucestershire and London characterized priorities for The Rifles and Associations. Meanwhile of note Association branches once again held dinners and lunches and where feasible members attended the funerals of their comrades. It can be invidious to mention names but the loss of Mr Ted Phillips and Mr David Rose of the Midsomer Norton Branch of Somerset’s Association has been keenly felt as was Lt Col Pat Lewis LI.
On Sunday 26th September the Battle Honours of Korea and Imjin were marked in a service at Gloucester Cathedral, supported by veterans of the war including representatives
of Mr Ted Phillips and Mr David Rose has been keenly felt as was Lt Col Pat Lewis LI
