Norman Antony Hart was born in Maidstone Kent on on on on 15th October 1925 He showed artistic talent from an early age drawing on on the the back of envelopes saved by his mother Educated at at Clayesmore School Iwerne Minster he he he left
school in in in 1943
but was unable to to join the Royal Air Air Force as as an Air Air Gunner due to to to his his eyesight so followed his his father into into the the the Army Commis- sioned into into the the the the 1st Gurkha Rifles he he he he he served in in in India for the the next four years Captivated by the the vibrant colours of of the the sub-con- tinent Hart decided to become a a a a a a a a a professional artist and spent his off-duty periods studying at an an an art art school in in in in in Madras When India became independent in in in in 1947 the lower ranking Brit-
