Could you volunteer?
As a volunteer at Oundle Oxfam Books and Music, you will often hear are: “There are so many wonderful treasures here!” and “There is so much to hunt through, I could spend all day in this shop.” These comments are what makes volunteering in the shop so rewarding and enjoyable. Every day is different – you certainly couldn’t complain that you were bored.
There is always a constant stream of new
and regular customers dropping by – either to browse for half an hour or just check out if there have been any additions to the bookshelves since they last popped by. Because most
days we take in hundreds of donated
books, there is every chance that
there will be something new to tempt
customers whenever they arrive.

who make sure the shelves are kept
stocked with books, vinyl albums, DVDs – and even sheet music and magazines. And, of course, we also have a variety of Oxfam’s own gifts and cards. Oxfam also offers an online shop, where rare and valuable books and records that might be of interest to a wider audience across the country are up for sale. Our team is also responsible for uploading any books which are donated to Oundle, onto the national site.

West Street, Oundle, and is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-3pm on Sundays during the summer.
