Stockport Branch
Not to be outdone by other branches walking for charity, members the Stockport Branch went on a
4-day walking trip
over the Yorkshire
Moors. A great way for
Association members
to keep feed and
contribute to their
chosen charities.
In April, ex members
of A Coy 1 MERCIAN
attended their Bi-annual range day at Doveridge, near Ashbourne. After a hearty breakfast in the club house it was off to the ranges to take out 50 clays each, at least we tried! There were some good results
on the day so proving we have not lost
it – yet. Our thanks to Mike Pilkington who organised the event and Paul Hancock our
In February, we enjoyed the Annual ‘Ken Ward Curry Evening’ in Stockport. Ken was a CSM at A Coy for most of the 1980’s and when he passed away, he left the branch money to hold a curry evening. From there we have continued the tradition every year, and in Ken’s Memory will continue to do so. Ken was a strong supporter of the MVRA and was the designer for the Association Standards.
