  THE ROSE
& CROWN
Rocking the Market Place
Kim, Mark and Paddy Morgan took over the Rose and Crown in February 2021, opening it in April when the lockdown restrictions were lifted. They had been running a similar business in Spain for two years prior, and before that in Blackpool. Here Mark explains how the family fell in love with Oundle...
What made you choose Oundle? At first
we were looking at pubs in the East Midlands,

How would you describe your menu? It’s traditional exclusive homemade dishes from around the globe. From famous steak pie to
Philly burgers, curries, chillies, kebabs, fish and chips and much much more. We have a cart serving thick shakes, sweets for your sweet and kids build-your-own ice cream towers.
Favourite items on your menu? Our most well known dish is our Morgan’s Steak Pie,
it’s always been a staple of our menu. Other fantastic homemade items include our specialty curry, chili con carne, pasta bolognese, and of course our american-style burgers.
What is the best thing about your job? No day is the same as we meet so many new faces and to see their reaction to our pub is priceless!
Do you have any special offers on? The bar has many different drinks offers on, including 3 shots for £6, 3 bottles for £8, and Cask Ale Night on a Tuesday after 5pm, where you can get a pint of Marston’s Pedigree Ale for only £2.80.
Most challenging moment? Probably when we first opened in April 2021. It was when
