Local sculptor’s commission
Barney has an exhibition of
his recent work, open to the public on Saturday and Sunday 25th/26th June and 2nd/3rd July at his home on Polebrook Airfield. This is part of the
Peterborough Artists Open Studios.

Barney Broadbent, local sculptor, has recently completed and installed this commissioned piece in a new Wetherspoons pub/restaurant in Bourne (opening on the 7th June). It is of an ERA racing car, designed, built and driven by Raymond Mays who lived and worked in Bourne and after whom the Wetherspoons is named.
This commission has been a step away from Barney’s normal work as he tends to focus on the natural world of birds and animals, but says he enjoyed the technical challenge immensely.
