  of pinning their opponent on their back for a count of 3. Lt Holland is a keen wrestler and is currently undefeated, claiming the title of ‘The QDG’s Achilles (Heel)’.
The obstacle course has been back in action for 2021. The team had to initially demonstrate the basic techniques for tackling an obstacle course as many soldiers had yet to face one. Once the training was out of the way we could enjoy some competition in the form of a log and stretcher race, finishing with the obstacle course.
These type of CO’s PT sessions have successfully prepared A Sqn and the deploying HQ element for Op NEWCOMBE 3.
Hero Workouts

AAPTIs
I would like to congratulate Cpl Marais (the brains behind the gym) on the birth of his twin girls Beatrix and Skyla on the 29th December 2022. I would also like to congratulate the following: Tpr Fogarty, LCpl Hellyar-Jones and LCpl Lewis on passing their AAPTI course. We look forward to developing our potential PTIs in 2022 with more and more soldiers showing interest in becoming PTIs. The hard work of our quality AAPTIs has made all the above possible.

The RSM approached the gym with the idea of dedicated PT sessions to remember our fallen Dragoons, each with a personal element. LCpl Marais (now Cpl Marais) took the lead on this and designed the workouts around their personal attributes, family members and hobbies.
A framed citation was made with photos of the fallen and the workout that was designed in their memory. Our first hero workout was for Lt Tom Mildenhall and LCpl Paul ‘Faz’ Farrelly. It consisted of a gruelling session in which the whole Regiment took part and was a great success.
