Thrapston Primary School.................................................
So as another school year is set to begin, we take a look back at the end of last year to celebrate our school community
The school choir sang to delight audiences in many areas – school family fun day, the charter fair, and during the town arts festival. Our musicians also played during the festival in the church, attended school orchestra day, and a special music assembly was held to celebrate all our talented pupils.
On the sporting front we celebrated the fantastic achievement of our swimming team becoming County champions. We
also hosted visits from Olympian Lizzie Simmonds, and cricketer Ben Smith, both of whom inspired
our children. We had three successful sports days, thank you to all who supported our children at these.
Our school council
have also
been busy
designing
and selling official TPS pencil cases (these can still be bought at https://www.pta- events.co.uk/thrapston) to raise funds for play equipment for the children. They also hosted a visit from Tom Pursglove our local MP to discuss how democracy works within
our school and the wider world of politics. We are very proud to be the winners of the
East Northants Beat the Street competition which saw many of our pupils and parents ‘tapping’ at various places around town and the local area. Thank you to everyone who helped us with this.
We also celebrated our 41st June Rose day with another celebration of dancing from our children and raised money for Macmillan with a cake sale organised by the Y6 children. Watch out for the school coffee
morning for the same cause on
Sept 27th.
We would like
to welcome all children, parents
and staff back to school for
another busy year, and wish
good luck to our old Y6 children who
have moved on to other school adventures. For information
about events and dates, or how to contact the school, please visit the school website
at https://www.thrapston-primary.northants. sch.uk/ or check out our school facebook page.
