 Nigel Scott’s endurance ride
Former 6 RIFLES Reservist, Nigel Scott completed an impressive 1,130- mile endurance charity motorbike ride in just under 24 hours on the 21st of June. Nigel is still involved with the Regimental family as an adult volunteer with Dorset Army Cadet Force, who are cap badged RIFLES.
Joined by two other riders, Nigel rode the distance in a safe 22.5 hour period on a 2005 BMW GS1150 Adventure. The route took the trio from Dorchester – Exeter – Bristol – Haverfordwest – Bangor – North Wales Coast – Chester – Liverpool – Leeds – Lowestoft – Brighton - Dorchester. Nigel successfully aced the journey and managed to raise over £3,500 for the RIFLES Regimental Trust and Care for Casualties, which helps both serving and former Riflemen in times of difficulty.
This endurance ride was in recognition for the support he has received from C Coy in Dorchester throughout a period of serious illness which included major bowel surgery and a lengthy recovery. Compelled to make a bold
statement Nigel
acted swiftly to thank
the Regiment for its
support by offering up
his own.
