 Local summer festival..................................................................
The Music Barn Festival returns to Cranford on 22nd June
The festival is set across two acres of farmland and centred around a couple of disused agricultural buildings; a unique music venue. Starting at 2pm and finishing late, this adult only event has become a highlight of the local music calendar and celebrates many genres, from folk and rock, to indy and electronic music.
The festival has been running for 5 years and showcases the talent of local bands
as well as more established national acts. Although still quite an intimate gathering the festival gets bigger and bolder each year as word spreads.
Headlining the main stage this year will be prog rock masters KOYO, with support from the likes of Brandy Thieves, Corby rockers King Purple, and rock covers outfit Kushty. Art of Noise founding member JJ Jeczalik will be performing in the Stone Barn stage.
The Old Forge, Cranford will be hosting the acoustic stage again and has The Black Feathers, a folk Americana band, headlining. Funds raised from the event go to local charities such as Cransley Hospice and Niamh’s Next Step. Over the past 5 years they have donated almost £60,000 to their chosen causes.
The organisers are also passionate about supporting local Northamptonshire food and drink producers. Locally brewed cider from ‘Bad Boy Ciders’ in Pipewell and ‘Nobby’s Brewery’ real ales in Thrapston will be available, and food caterers include ‘Stanley Street Eats’, ‘Greedy Gordons’ from the Red Lion Cranford, as well as The Little Box Co Gin and Fizz van serving up Warner Edwards gins.
Tickets £25 are available from www.musicbarnuk.com
