News from around the area..............................................................
What a busy town – Thrapston Dreamers are never still...
It has been a busy few weeks for Thrapston’s own theatre company for
young people – and their packed calendar of events will continue into June and July. Rehearsals are well underway for Thrapston Dreamers’ next production – “Time Traveller” – which will be staged at The Plaza on Friday, 19 and Saturday, 20 July.
The latest production, which is sponsored by AC Binns Specialist Transport Services, follows on from the success of the group’s production of “Jack and the Beanstalk” earlier this year. It will be the culmination of months of rehearsals by about 45 actors, dancers and backstage crew members. Song, dance and acting will be combined
in the show, which will tell the story of a time traveller who visits a series of famous characters from historical eras.
Alongside the rehearsals, the Dreamers team has also organised a residential weekend, including drama, singing and dance, at MacQueen House, Twywell, for some of its members. The Dreamers team has also been busy preparing to take part in the opening performance of the Arts Festival (at The Plaza on Saturday, 1 June). Plus, at
the end of the month, some of the group’s singers will be taking to the main stage of the Charter Fair on Saturday, 29 June.
Tickets for “Time Traveller” will be going on sale soon; check the group’s website at www.thrapstondreamers.com or its Facebook page for more information.
