Getting out and about...
THRAPSTON COUNTRY DANCERS
New members are always welcome. We meet at St James Church Hall on the first and third Wednesday 2.00-3.30pm.
Our numbers have increased recently which is very encouraging and enables the group to enjoy a greater selection of dances. Everyone
is made welcome and first visit is free. We are
a very sociable and friendly group. Beginners are vey welcome. A partner is not required and all dances are walked through. If a dance goes wrong as sometimes happens we all have a good laugh. The main thing is that everyone has fun. Further information ring George 01933 622827.
ROTARY NEWS
Since the last issue went to press, some club members were able to attend a pre-season thank you get together at Grafham Water for all the Rotary Clubs that help with Sailability.
One of our longest serving members subsequently reported back to the club that the water levels were so low that it might not be possible to launch any boats when the season began. Water levels were improving by Easter and, hopefully, will now be good enough for boats to sail. Our members are looking forward to rigging boats, putting on waders and launching the boats so that Sailability members with a range of disabilities can have a great time out on the water.
Thoughts are now turning to the Charter Fair at the end of June, which we hope will be another successful community event for the town.
THRAPSTON PARTY IN THE PARK 6th MAY 2023
You are invited to join a group of singers preparing for Thrapston Party in the Park which will take place on the Coronation Day, Saturday 6th May from 2.00-8.00pm.
We will be singing with a live orchestra during the last hour (7.00-8.00pm) and will be rounding the event off with a Last Night of the Proms medley.
All singers are welcome. There will be two advance rehearsals in St James Church Hall on Tuesday 25th April and 2nd May, 7.30-9.30pm so please come along. Music will be provided.
