1323 (RYEDALE) SQUADRON NEWS
Along with every other Squadron, 1323 Ryedale Sqn have been unable to offer face to face activities at the unit, so the cadets have been engaging through MS Teams on virtual parade nights at Squadron level and further afield. These sessions have allowed them to keep current with cadet related activities and COVID updates. The Squadron has been running video training sessions supported by Kahoot quizzes and PowerPoint presentations. The cadets have also had access to ground school training from 645 Volunteer Gliding Squadron (thanks guys, most appreciated!) and talks from interesting individuals from the RAF and aviation industries.
The staff team have also tried to keep the cadets engaged outside of virtual parade nights during lockdown, with Warrant Officer Colin Bell giving a basic introduction into media and photography, resulting in a weekly activity where the cadets have to provide an image related to a certain theme, chosen by the cadet with the best image from the previous week.
