Thrapston Charter Fair
Thrapston Charter Fair will take place on Saturday 28th June 2025 from 2-6pm and we look are looking forward to welcoming you
to another amazing day. The new committee
is working hard to plan the fair and would welcome any ideas or help you are able to offer.
This year as a country we will be remembering the end of World War II, eighty years ago, so the Charter Fair will be celebrating Armed Forces Day and remembering the 1940s through song, vehicles, exhibitions and more.
We are delighted to be welcoming ‘The Starlight Sisters’ who will be entertaining us throughout the afternoon with 1940s and World War II songs.
The W.I. will be running a tea room in The Plaza and we are hoping to have a Tea Dance in there too.
Booking for stalls is now open and the booking form is available on the Charter Fair website – www.thrapstoncharterfair.co.uk or by emailing thrapstoncharterfair@gmail.com.
We are hoping to have a wide variety of stalls so please book in quickly. We may need to operate a waiting list if there are duplicate stalls.
Fairground rides are yet to be decided so if you would like to suggest your favourites or new ones we haven’t seen before please email thrapstoncharterfair@gmail.com with your ideas.
Looking forward to a great day!
     Thrapston and Raunds Rotary News
Some readers might have read in the October issue that, in 2012, the club enabled the planting of trees to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II and that not all the trees had survived. The club had a popular stall at the Thrapston Christmas Festival and the money raised will contribute to the cost of replacement trees in the Thrapston Peace Park. The trees are due to be planted by the time this issue is printed.
The club were very pleased to welcome Lindsey Burch and Cindy McCormack to a recent meeting. They were each presented with special certificates recognising their outstanding service to the Rotary Shoebox
Appeal and their contribution to the community.
We will be holding our very popular Annual Charity Fundraising Quiz on Saturday February 15th at Stanwick Village Hall starting at 7pm. Tickets cost £10 per person and include a fish and chips supper. They can be obtained from club members. Teams of up to 6 people will compete for prizes for the quiz and the table round. Full details will be published on our Facebook page but tickets can be obtained from club members or by telephoning 01933 623289.
Further details about our activities can be found on the club Facebook page.
