PCRF Blandford has continued to be a hive of activity over the past 12 months, with and despite now working through the tail end of the COVID pandemic, it doesn’t look like the
workload is going to ease off anytime soon. It has been nice to put the gloves on (and masks) open the doors and welcome back patients along with their knocks and bumps to chat face to face.
The PCRF known for its love of injuries and comfy beds, has also been welcoming back large groups of Phase 2s for group therapy lessons to aid them on their journey back to full fitness. What has been received well is the new Injury Prevention Presentation that has now officially been introduced into the WIP package for all new Phase 2 recruits. Created by the department and executed by Sgt (SI) C McCabe RAPTC, the presentation, at the time of writing, has been delivered to 143 personnel. This presentation educates and empowers the new recruits on how to best reduce their risk of being injured whilst they navigate through their trade training.
It isn’t always this much fun as we are called away to part take in other activities. SSgt (SSI) M Potter was tasked to be an instructor for the Royal Signals Nordic Skiing Camp in Trysil, Norway for a whole 14 days, being subjected to beautiful scenic views as he beasted his students around a 2.5km biathlon loop. This will be the last time SSgt (SSI) M Potter RAPTC will don the infamous blue jacket, as it is time to say farewell to our beloved Corps and pursue an alternative career in the land of the civilian. Excited to finally be off the QMs flick, it is with a heavy heart the department says goodbye.
