310 officers and men of the 401st Company, 50th Northants Anti-Aircraft Battalion Royal Engineers (T.A.) held their month’s training camp in a large field off the Huntingdon Road near Titchmarsh, Major J. Heywood being the commanding officer. The men were invited
to become honorary members of Thrapston Institute.

In my January 2022 article I asked if anyone had information about this camp. This envelope posted to Pte K. Kane at the camp gives much detail about the purpose of the camp, the various initials confirming it as being an Anti- Aircraft unit with the Auxiliary Territorial Service. My thanks to Angela Gyves for permission to use this picture.
