Catering department
– we sustain (and endure!)
During the period from March 2024-
December 2024 QDG Chefs have had a
■■■ year providing Battalion Commit-
ments in and out of barracks. With a
small detachment of only 4 Chefs.
In March 2024, 2 Chefs were deployed
to OP CABRIT 15 as part of the NSE to
provide Catering Assurance and Support
for B Squadron QDG. The chefs whilst
in theatre sustained there professional
abilities providing numerous BBQs and
Theme nights to maintain the moral of
all members of B Squadron and other
attached units.
The chefs supported Squadron
commitments for various exercises
in and out of camp during Operation
CABRIT by providing Composite Rations
and Several container meals.
It was not all work, Chefs had down
time to do Cultural visits to Museums in
Warsaw and were also invited for a VVIP
press conference regarding the UKs
Prime Minister Defence speech along-
side B Squadron QDG who displayed
their capabilities.
Meanwhile whilst chefs were away
on OP CABRIT the remaining catering
department back at Robertson Barracks
Swanton Morley still provided support
to the remainder of the Regiment by
providing dinner nights / other exercise
commitments and also the Christmas
functions as well as day to day commit-
ments.
