During 2024, it was a very quiet year
for QDG golf team this as due to FOE
& operational commitments. But we
had did have the opportunity to enter a
QDG team into most AGA (Army Golf
Association Eastern Region) throughout
this current year. On the first AGA event
at Elton Furze golf club, WO2 Hughes
(RQMS) refused to pay his AGA member-
ship. This is the requirement which you
need to be enter in the prizes which
AGA eastern region, WO2 Hughes “said
he never win anything and not wasting
my money on that”. this soon backfired
hard on WO2 Hughes as he came first
under his division on the golf competition
which meant he didn’t come back with
any prizes, just a well done and join AGA
membership next time. The QDG golf
team has played a few more AGA event
over the current year, which has help
develop and give them the experience
at playing in golf competition to the golf
team and, give them time out of work to
play a sport which they enjoy.
LCpl Parker, once return for OP
CABRIT has continue to play and repre-
sent the ARMY golf team during the
rest of the year. LCpl Parker over this
last year has played at the follow events

The QDG motorsports teams and
personnel have competed all over the
country this year, representing the
regiment from Corp level all the way to
Tri service. Tpr Day started the season
strong as the first to take home silver-
ware for the motor cross (MX) enduro
team by coming second in round one
of the Army’s ICXC championship.
The rest of the MX team continued to
develop round after round, building a
good foundation to work on in 2025.
The next podiums came from LCpl
Tyrrell, as co-driver whilst competing
in the Armed Forces Rally Champi-
onship. LCpl Tyrrell took home third

dedication and comment within Army
golf team, she has now been asked to be
apart of the RAC golf committee moving
forward.
This year was the first time since
Covid-19, that the RAC Golf champion-
ships has been able to go ahead. This
event goes towards (Hodgson’s horse),
Which we were able to enter an QDG
golf team into this two-day golf compe-
tition. It was a very testing course and
challenging weather condition, which
doesn’t surprise you for been by the coast

at the Jim Clark and Reivers Rally,
followed by second place at the RSAC
Scottish rally, where he went on to win
the David Leedhams trophy, making it
a good rookie season for him and the
rest of the team.

as hard as possible thinking he is Bryson
DeChambeau. Which he has now been
put on remedial golf practice until the
next golf event.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get
away on a golf tour this year due to a
■■■ FOE and operation deployments
but moving forward we have recently
put in the request to get a golf simulator
for QDG. This will be able to give plenty
of practice in during winter months and
encourage more QDG personnel to gain
interest into playing golf for either AGA/
RAC events in future years.

You can’t park there! LCpl Tyrrell
demonstrates his best corner technique
season for Tpr Day and Cpl Green.
As key characters within QDG Motor-
sport, they will be both missed but we
wish them both luck for the future with
Cpl Green in his new posting and Tpr
Day who is heading into the civilian
world. We hope they both continue
their passion for MX Enduro.
Looking forwards, we are hoping to
expand our numbers in 2025, finding
new talent and representing QDG in
more disciplines. If you want to get
involved and win more silverware for
the regiment, please get in contact with
either Sgt Hutchings for two-wheel
sports or LCpl Tyrrell for four-wheel.
