What a busy month we’ve all got ahead of us... celebrations everywhere!
As if it isn’t exciting enough to have the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we also have the Charter Fair to look forward to!
Turn to page 8 and you will find all the information that you need about this year’s
fair. From steam train rides to an inflatable maze and from circus skills and classic cars to a wonderous selection of food and drink! And all right on your doorstep (or High Street!).
If you have a sweet tooth, then it’s worth popping into the Indoor Market at The Plaza to visit The Sweetie Stash. You could buy some for a gift, or just sit in the park and eat them all
yourself – it’s your choice (page 12).
Eric Franklin has written another superb
piece, this time it’s all about rush plaiting and horse collar making in Islip. Did you know that it dates back all the way to about 1650? What an amazing history our local villages have and what incredible knowledge Eric has (page 24).
As our gardens begin to grow in the early summer sun, there is always work that needs to be done. Plant, tend and weed now to reap the rewards all through the summer (page 26).
