Regimental Comrades Association Cardiff Dinner
The RCA Committee once again organ- ised a great evening of catching up over wine, food and good company at the Masonic Hall on Guildford Street in Cardiff. Ninety Comrades and partners sat down to dine on Welsh Beef and Bara Brith pudding with the usual suspects keeping the stools warm in the bar, slightly down in numbers over the previous two years, but understandable considering the amount of Association events held throughout the year. After the excellent meal the Colonel of the Regiment, Brig Richmond, gave a detailed account of all regimental activities, followed by the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Kierstead, who gave us an overview of all that those
at Regimental Duty had achieved. Mr Chris Gibbons replied and toasted the Regiment on behalf of the Association.

Field of Remembrance Westminster Abbey
On Thursday 9th November a small group of serving and retired members of the Regiment gathered for the 94th Royal British Legion Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey to pay homage to our fallen comrades. Her Majesty the Queen laid the first wreath then toured the Regimental Plots, our plot is always the final plot of the field and this year right opposite the Press enclosure, however we were extremely privileged that the Queen stopped and spoke with Chris Gibbons and John Morris.
The Royal British Legion once again kindly planted our Regimental Rolls of Honour and our wooden remembrance tributes bearing the names of all those from the K.D.G, Bay’s and QDG who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The conservation to the Sacristy is still ongoing, thus the field having to be smaller, so only three tickets were issued per plot, once again a big thank you to the RTR who gave us a few spares.
Those in attendance were Lt Col Brace MBE BEM, Maj R Parry, Maj C Ruggles- Brise, Mr A Bowtell, Mr C Gibbons, Mr M Hawtin, IP J Morris and Mr C Williams. Please contact HHQ if you wish to attend next years FoR.
