 Memorial Parade and
 Service
The 99th Cavalry Comrades Old Comrades Association Memorial Parade was held under sunny Skies on the 14th May 2023 with His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards taking the salute in Hyde Park, London. We were led on parade by the Colonel of the Regiment, with Mr David Way carrying the Banner and Mr Chris Gibbons carrying and laying the regimental wreath. Thank you to Lt Col Stewart Burman, Mr Rob Chubb and Mr Andy Bowtell for representing the RCA on the CCOCA committee and ensuring that everyone was once again in the right place, at the right time. The parade was followed by a Regimental Rendezvous at The Aragon House, Wimbledon, where it was great to find the pub full of old and new faces catching up over the afternoon. MLH
 The QDG
  Trust
During the financial year 2022/23, the Regiment returned from its operational deployment in Mali and transitioned to the 3rd Division, which allowed a little more time for activities that could be supported by the QDG Trust.
The principal grants to the Regiment, which cover, among other items, Adven- ture Training and the maintenance of heritage assets that are on loan from the Trust to the Messes, increased by 10 per cent to £48,494. 2022/2023 also witnessed a significant increase in benev- olence grants from the relatively low level of the previous year. With regard to benev- olence, the principal point of contact is the Regimental Secretary, who coordinates our cases with other charities and these activities are covered in his report.
During the year, David Rosier retired as trustee and many thanks are due to him for his outstanding guardianship of the Regimental finances over the last 30 years.
All bequests and donations to the Trust are most gratefully received. The full name of the charity is 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards Regimental Trust, Charity Commission number 274689. The Trustees normally apply gifts to the unre- stricted Trust fund, although there is also a restricted fund for benevolence should donors specifically wish to support that activity.
