Ex SABER JUNCTION
Ex SABER JUNCTION saw A Sqn deploy to Hohenfels, Germany for a month long exercise working alongside the 2nd Cavalry Regiment as the Mission Rehearsal Exercise for our imminent deployment on Op CABRIT (P). Having thought this would be a fairly straightfor- ward procedure A Sqn began the process of gaining diplomatic clearances, Goods Movement Reference numbers and NF302s. The SQMS Dept will be able to
attest to the fact that this was anything but straightforward, but has at least set the SQMS in good stead for a future
career in HM Revenue and Customs.
With the Jackals loaded on to HETs, and with a large sigh of relief, A Sqn boarded the coaches (and for the most unfortunate members of the Sqn climbed into their SVs) and desperately hoped that for once the French authorities would be reasonably cooperative as the Sqn attempted to gain access to Europe. Having navigated the world of customs and various check ins (which required no small amount of flashing MOD 90s), A Sqn boarded various ferries and trains to make their way to France.
