concept of ‘recce by stealth,’ baffling US Commanders across the BG by not driving Jackals directly towards enemy T-72s with all guns blazing.
Having set an effective OP Matrix A Sqn proceeded to begin reporting enemy movements back to the US BG, only slightly hampered by our C Sqn augmentee Lt Danny Seales’ compulsion to drive through mine fields and send smoke signals from his OP with his ever- present pack of Marlboro Reds.
Having operated effectively in the deep battlespace, sending invaluable reports up to 4-2CR HQ, the time for the final assault drew near. The OC, along with every single commander on the battlefield all closed in to one location for the final ROC drill, which surprisingly did not see massed fires destroying the entire Bde CoC. The only minor scare during this period was from 10A himself, who upon rounding the corner to the
ROC drill was confronted by a Troop of BMP-2s. Deciding that discretion was the better part of valour
and having conducted
a tactical withdrawal it was established that these were in fact friendly forces.

conversations between OPFOR 20m from their OPs, A Sqn thought their work was done as US Strikers rolled past their OPs and began the assault.
The US thought otherwise, with orders (of sorts) to move rapidly into a screen

to the South. A Sqn dutifully stepped off, suddenly finding themselves surrounded by US soldiers in respirators who were very insistent that the area had been completely denied by chemical weapons. Not allowing this to slow us down (and with a rather marked lack of GSRs), A Sqn somehow survived the threat of gas, with Lt Will Asquith leading the charge towards our directed positions. Having been the only Tp Ldr to have survived the exercise unscathed (and having been extremely smug about this fact) fate finally caught up with 4th Tp as he took a leaf out of US doctrine and charged headlong towards a T-72 guns blazing. Unfortunately, the T-72 quickly put a stop to this and SHQ were hard pressed to keep up with the stream of MISTATs sent through by LCpl
