Marissa Collins stood at the apartment lounge window to watch her sister, Louisa, drive away. ‘I bet that car cost a fortune as well,’ she groaned, folding her sister’s second batch of designer clothing for the dry-cleaning man to collect.
She returned to the kitchen to tidy up and placed the crockery and utensils in the dishwasher, avoiding the urge to switch it on. Louisa had reprimanded her on two occasions for using it half-empty.
