FOR TENNIS?
Oundle Tennis Club
Oundle Tennis Club has been situated on Occupation Road, at the site of the old Oundle Swimming Pool, since 1988.
It has a long history. The club was founded in around 1921, when it was known as the
Congregationalist Tennis Club. The
name Undelian Lawn Tennis Club
started being used in 1924 when play
on Sunday afternoons was agreed,
and it was renamed the Oundle Lawn
Tennis Club until 1988, when it became
Oundle Tennis Club. As this previous
name suggests, play originally took place on grass courts, provided by Oundle School, and
as these courts fell out of use, in 1983 the club reached an agreement with Oundle School
for the use of hard courts during Easter and Summer holidays. As the club membership grew, and as players wanted greater and all year- round access to courts, it was decided for the club to build its own courts and clubhouse. The first balls were being hit on the new courts on Occupation Road in January 1989.

The club today has a thriving membership, with five hard flood-lit courts, mini-tennis courts, regular club sessions, league matches, club tournaments, kids’ holiday camps
and coaching for adults and children. The

on being friendly and approachable, welcoming everyone in the community.
During the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend in May, the club is hosting a King’s Coronation family
tennis tournament, which is open to all non- members as well as existing members. Please get in touch if you are interested in playing, or would like to find out more.
