Thrapston, Denford and Islip Churches .............................
Thrapston Baptist Church
Minister: Reverend Mat Hussain
e: mat.thrapston.baptist@gmail.com t: 07501 718797
After being closed for nearly four months we were pleased to be able to partly open the church (or at least one door of the church!!) to provide the folks from Raunds and Thrapston Volunteers a venue from which they could distribute free school lunches whilst the schools were shut.
As yet, we still aren’t meeting at the church for worship services, so our live on-line zoom meetings are still available for all to log in to – go to the church website: (www.thrapstonbaptist.co.uk) and click
on the link to the worship services. If you can’t make the service time, a recording is available on the website too: https://www. thrapstonbaptist.co.uk/podcasts
The partial lifting of the lockdown has meant that some of our regular user organisations have been reviewing how they can start up again.
With all the hygiene measures in place
as required by the government Slimming World are now back using the building, U3A Tai Chi group have used the church lawn for their exercises, and we are pleased to welcome back the kids dance school Step ‘N’ Grooves.
We can accommodate users whose activities are able to take place within government guidelines – don’t involve close physical contact or sharing tea and coffee – and who are able to conduct their activities within the required social distances.
Please get in touch if you would like to know more. (thrapston.baptist@gmail.com)
Finally, a reminder we have set up a special “Prayer Request” contact form so that you can contact us, in confidence, and ask us to pray with you or for you or your family. Find the link on the website, or directly on: www.thrapstonbaptist.co.uk/ prayer-requests.

Mass in Thrapston will take place at 11.30am on Sundays and at 10am on Thursdays but please check the parish newsletter for weekly updates: www.ourladyofwalsinghamcorby.org
Recommendations have been issued by the Government and by the Bishop’s Conference though these change regularly. At the time of writing (30th July) congregation members are advised:-
• Numbers are limited so please obey the Stewards
• One-way system is to be observed
• Please keep social distance – 1 metre+ will be
enforced
• Please wear a face covering or mask
• Members of the congregation are not allowed
to sing. Background music will be played by the
organist keeping his social distance.
• Holy Communion will be dispensed after the
final blessing in silence after which people will
immediately leave the church.
• Holy Communion is only permitted on the hand with
arms fully extended. Please do not say ‘Amen’.
For the time being the Sunday obligation
is suspended so if you are not confident enough to come to public Mass with all the rules and regulations, don’t worry. Please stay at home and tune into Mass online and use this prayer: My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot
at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit myself to be parted from you. Amen.
Don’t forget to log onto the website to keep in touch with up to date arrangements.
If you would like to ring Fr David or Canon Michael for any reason, even just for a chat or a prayer, please do so on 01536 203121.
