Denford Holy Trinity Church
Services for September
These are subject to last minute changes
St James’ Church
Writing this at the end of July for you to
read in September is more than a little challenging! With ever changing Government regulations and advice from the Church
of England preparing our buildings and organising gatherings to be Covid safe is not going to be an easy task.
But it was a gentle joy to gather in the name of Christ for our first physical service in the benefice since lockdown at Holy Trinity Denford on Thursday 16th July, reflecting
on God’s word in the Bible, praising him in spoken word and taking time to speak to him in prayer.
The type of services we can hold in church will be very different to what we were used to. There will be strictly limited numbers, there will be no singing, no refreshments, lots of hand-gel and more. We will be asking everyone to book in advance so that we
can arrange the seating plan and enable households to sit together. Full details explaining the booking will appear on the church website www.tdichurches.co.uk and telephone booking is available to those without internet access.
This will excite some and make others very nervous. Some are ready to get out and about again, whilst others in our congregations are choosing to remain socially isolated for the moment. That is fine and I hope we can remain understanding and patient towards one another, whatever decisions we individually make.
For now, we are expecting the online services to be the main way we are fed, encouraged and guided by God’s word for many months to come but hopefully by the end of August we will have held our first Sunday Services since the start of lockdown. Regulations and arrangements may change nearer the time so please check on www. tdichurches.co.uk for up to date information.
If you have been watching our services online why not come and meet us on a Sunday morning? We’d love to meet you and welcome you into our church family – socially distanced of course!

There will be no refreshments at any of the services and we ask that you observe social distancing requirements.
Advance notices:
Harvest Festival 27th September
We hope to hold a service with only non- perishable goods that will be donated to a local food bank. As we will be unable to hold a Harvest Supper, we are hoping that any donations, given instead, will be given to the current appeal for the disastrous situation in the Yemen.
Remembrance Sunday
The plan is to hold a shortened open-air service at the War Memorial with speakers to allow us all to hear but at a social distance.
These services are also subject to change.
Feel free to contact any of us at Holy Trinity if we can help with shopping etc or just to chat! We send you all, love and hugs. Stay safe and Healthy!
