Chairman’s Report – Cllr Karen Draycott
The Mayoral Charity this year is ‘Mind’. The objectives at the beginning of the Mayoral year were to have ‘Mind’ based in Thrapston. This
has been achieved, as they now hold surgeries in East Northamptonshire Council’s building. We also wanted to highlight the need for mental health provision in and around the Town. To some extent
on the year of ‘Mental Health’ focus? How can we not only seek to improve the services
for people with mental illness, but to cultivate a community in which the full range of physical and mental health well-being provision is accessible? It is not possible to prevent all mental illness, but I believe it is possible to improve our general physical and mental well-being.
If you have any ideas in which we can create/facilitate a community network of physical/
this has been achieved, by
holding many different civic
events highlighting mental
health provision and raising money for Northampton & District Mind.
The question now is how do we build

mental health provision, that has the overall effect of minimising the risk of mental ill health, then please let me know.
