Knowing how to save a life is an incredible feeling – St. John Ambulance need more volunteers
St John Ambulance, the nation’s leading first aid charity, is appealing for more adult volunteers to join its unit in Thrapston.
All volunteers learn lifesaving skills so that they can be the difference between life and death, delivering first aid at events and in the community. St John Ambulance members fulfil a range of different roles: First Aider, Advanced First Aider, Ambulance Crew, Cycle Responses and Specialist Support.
One of our aims for 2020 is to get more involved within our communities, delivering valuable lifesaving training ranging from treating cuts and sprains to dealing with choking and cardiac arrest.
The volunteers in Thrapston meet once a week on a Tuesday from 7.30am to 9pm at the St John Ambulance Hall, Chancery Lane NN14 4JL, and this is when we carry out additional training.
The events that Thrapston First Aiders cover are mainly at the Saints Rugby, Cobblers football, Marathons, Northampton
Tea and biscuits? Thrapston Ladies Club welcome you
Thrapston Ladies Club was formed over 70 years ago. We are a non religious group who meet on the first Tuesday of each month at St James’ Church Hall at 7.30pm.
We have around 50 members at present and would love to welcome more.
Our annual membership fee is £3 with a £2 cost per month which includes tea or coffee and biscuits and a chance to win a raffle prize.
We are a relaxed friendly group and have a variety of speakers throughout the year. We also celebrate our clubs birthday and have a Christmas meal. If you would like to give us a try the first visit is free of charge. Please feel free to just turn up or give our Chair Christine a call on 01832 732685.

than happy to share our experience with newcomers.

THRAPSTON GARAGE SALE
Time to declutter – clear out your cupboards and sheds. Thank you to all who have supported our 2-a-year Garage Sales. We have raised over £6000 for various charities. This year our first Garage Sale will be on 25th April from 9-2. Registration will be £5 – which goes to charity. Forms will be available in February onwards from the Town Council Office.
No money is taken at the office. We do include Denford and Islip .
Maps will be available from outside the Plaza on the day from 8.30
They will be A3 size with sat nav postcodes on at £1.50 each.
