Thrapston Dreamers’
A show that’s out of this world Thrapston Dreamers Space Wars
Our home-grown team of young actors and backstage crew are busy in their
final rehearsals for their next production, which they are hoping will be out of this world as they go inter-galactic. Thrapston Dreamers’ panto production of “Space Wars” will take to the Plaza stage on Friday, 20th, Saturday 21st (both at 7pm) and Sunday 22nd July (2pm). The cast and backstage crew of about 40 children and young people, supported by a small group of adults, have been working since March to present another Dreamers’ memorable performance full of fun, laughter, dance and song.
Months of Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon rehearsals and, more recently, weekend rehearsals
will culminate in the performances, for which tickets (£6 each) are on sale from Funky Lil’ Feet in Huntingdon Road or from the Dreamers website at https:// thrapstondreamers.com/
This will be the sixth show from the Thrapston Dreamers team, which began in 2015; the group, which presents two shows a year, aims to offer children a chance to develop their skills onstage and backstage while entertaining their audiences. “Having reached our sixth production, we know - from feedback
from our children and their parents - how much taking part in Dreamers means to so many of our young performers and backstage crew members,” said Lindsay Latimer, from the Dreamers team. “We
are so fortunate to continue to have so much support for our productions from right across our community. Having hugely appreciative audiences, as we have for
all of our shows, makes the Dreamers experience even more rewarding for our children, and we’re hoping that our Space Wars audiences will give the children the same experience.”
Attending Dreamers is free, with the group financed through local business sponsorship, fundraising events and ticket sales. The main show sponsor for “Space Wars” is Shellplant of Earls Barton.
“Space Wars” tells the story of young Mark Sleepwalker, who is in love with the beautiful princess Ha-el. He begins an epic journey to retrieve the legendary helmet of the Lone Spaceman - but
his mission could be thwarted by the
evil Queen Livia, her son Ben and her android clone of the princess; they are all determined to make sure that Mark never returns from his quest. But, who will win out by the end of the show?
