President’s Foreword: ‘Three Reasons to take pride in our Corps’
With spring just round the corner, I’m
delighted to launch our year of triple
commemorations for the QARANC.
This year marks the 75th anniversary
of the QARANC Association, 50th
anniversary of Ward Stewardesses
joining and starting training and
30th anniversary of male nurses and
HCAs transferring from the RAMC to
QARANC. Recognising each of those
landmarks as a key achievement is
cause for celebration so having three
in one year gives us three times the
reason to shout about our Corps with
pride. You can read more in the Gazette
about the celebratory dates for the

My congratulations also to our regular and reserve colleagues who have recently been selected for promotion to Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, and Warrant Officer.
Military Hospital will bring back memories of walking the corridors for many of us! The recent redevelopment of the hospital into housing included a commemorative unveiling of a bust of Florence Nightingale and luckily, we had QARANC representation at the event. Last autumn the Trustees were able to meet to discuss new ideas and themes and you can read more about the Trustees work in the Chair’s Annual Report.
I look forward to seeing many of you this year at our Branch, Unit, sporting and celebratory events.
Take care and keep safe. In friendship,

important we don’t lose sight of that, nor the strong bond we have, united by our Association Friendship motto. That theme comes across strongly in the interviews you’ll read in the Gazette about highlighting the work of the Association, the Regimental Team and a recent veteran colleague.

What a lot has happened
since our last Gazette; December and January
saw a return of restrictions
and QARANC deploying in
support of NHS vaccination
and healthcare delivery. Changing our working
practices again in response
to the restrictions still enabled much of our routine work to continue for the serving and in Branches; albeit virtually for some. Specific training and deployment continues and I hear and see daily about your hard work and exemplary leadership from across the globe. This New Year we have again had great recognition through

Thank you all for your contributions and in this edition, there is a great variety showing what you have been up to in the Branches and units with sports, adventurous training and a poignant outing to see the poppy fields artwork. The feature about the Cambridge
