Bluelab displayed their hand-held meters and control equipment for measuring and controlling parameters such as pH. Their product range has been developed by growers, for growers. This means that their robust, accurate and easy-to-use tools can withstand the knocks and drops that come with everyday growing.
Biobizz’s display showcased their products which do not contain any kind of artificial additives, synthetic pesticides, or harmful heavy metals. They have created a line of organic substrates, liquid fertilizers, and substrate enhancers for the most demanding farmers. Merin, from Biobizz provided lots of helpful advice on the day and provided numerous great raffle prizes and starter packs of their products.
Maxigrow Maxibright lighting systems allow gardeners and horticultural enthusiasts to grow the whole year round and produce fantastic results! DNA Mills Nutrients and substrates display provided a range of products tested in soil, coco-coir, and hydroponic systems, in sterile systems or with beneficial
biologics. Mill’s products can be used
by professional greenhouses and with hobbyist growers alike. Brian explained how they combine unique bio-mineral components to deliver a high-quality and nutrient rich solution that encourages your plants to produce at their best. These were also generously provided in the “goodie bags” and raffle.
Growth Technology has been developing innovative horticultural products to promote plant rooting, growth and flowering and Jonathan’s support on the day was extremely helpful and interesting.
Lunch over and John Soulsby passed on a lovely message from Linda Stocks reflecting how proud Ian would have been to see this day come to fruition.
Our afternoon NVS Speakers were Simon Smith from the NVS Midlands Branch, who gave a detailed talk on
growing parsnips and included a few short videos to help the audience see how things are done. Simon’s talk was followed by David Metcalfe from the NVS Northern Branch who gave a talk on how he grows and his development of leeks which rounded off a very successful day.
Thank you to all who provided goodie bag items including Autopot, Ecothrive, BioBizz, Growth Technology, Terra Aquatica, Grow Genius, Canna, DNA Mills, Bio Nova & Moonshine in addition to the raffle prizes mentioned above.
Overall a great day out for all who attended and hopefully the first of many. A big thanks must also go to John Soulsby and his team for helping organise the Seminar and providing drinks, beverages and raffle prizes throughout the day. The North East Horticultural Society hope this is the first of many to come.
