‘The Lark Ascending’ – at Pilton!
Come and listen to an evocative programme of English Pastoral Music in the tranquil, rural setting of Pilton All Saints & St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm on Friday, 31st May. The Harborough Ensemble have been coming annually to Pilton since 2014 and always perform to a high, virtuoso standard.
The musicians, led by David Le Page, will be playing a variety of pieces including The Lark Ascending and Fantasia on Greensleeves by Ralph Vaughan Williams, St Paul’s Suite and Brook Green Suite by Gustav Holst and Edward Elgar’s Serenade for Strings.
The Harborough Ensemble have been coming regularly to Pilton since 2014 and always perform to a high, virtuoso standard. David is artistic director of the orchestra of the Swan
in Stratford Upon Avon. For this concert he
has brought together a talented group of six musicians including three violinists and two cellists.
Pilton Parochial Church Council is delighted that another regular visitor to Pilton: the well known harpist Eleanor Turner, will join the other musicians for what promises to be a nostalgic evening of classical music.
