  BEING PART
OF THE RACE MANAGEMENT TEAM
Natalie and I joined RSYC in 2013 when we bought our non-sporty cruising yacht La Ina. I had done some racing many years before, including a Frostbite series where I had a distinct recollection that the RIB was following us, collecting marks as we passed them (we were not much good, but we enjoyed the racing). So, when we joined RSYC, and having heard that Race Management were looking for more volunteers, I decided to go along and see what it was all about.
 Our club has a reputation for putting on high quality races, and our Frostbite and Double- handed series are especially popular.We are fortunate to have some very experienced race officers in our ranks whose experience is at national and international level.
The club’s races are run with two boats based in OceanVillage.The Hound is the Committee Boat and is supported by a 6m RIB, which appears to have escaped a
naming ceremony.A member has very generously donated a second RIB to the club which is used when it is needed.We would typically have four to five people on The Hound and two on the RIB.
