 QM(T)
Another successful start to the year for the QM(T) team having completed its annual assurance, proving that despite many disruptions to the work place the team were still able to support the Regiment’s output safely and effectively throughout. This would also serve to mark a couple of changes to the department.
The RQMS (T) WO2 Jason Bain leaves the KRH heading south to sunny Bovington on promotion to WO1 GSM, a role befitting his talent. His replacement WO2 Chris Brown thrusts into the world of G4 and quickly demonstrated he remains a safe pair of hands to deliver the many outputs required of his role. Slightly later in the year the departure of the QM(T) Capt Jason Mawhinney who moves a few hundred metres away into the role of QM where his considerable G4 knowledge can be tested even further. His replacement arrives in the form of a slightly nervous Capt Simon Hudson who will have big boots to fill, a huge challenge consider- ing the talent that has resided in this role before him.
Whilst G4 may not be the most exciting job within the Regiment it is without doubt a very important one that seeks to support the many outputs required of a CR2 unit. The hard work and con- stant commitment delivered by both has been staggering and will set the conditions for the next team to deliver success.
The initial challenge for the department was to deliver a fleet that could deploy on Ex CRIMSON THUNDER. This would be an opportunity for the KRH to conduct low level training as subu- nits prepared for the Battlegroup deployment later in the year - no mean feat for a brand new command team still learning its role. It is at this point the RFM (Regimental Fleet Manager) SSgt Gav Harrison steps gloriously into the scene, his knowledge and experience proving to be invaluable in delivering a flawless exam- ple of how this business should be conducted. Supported by the

1LO SSgt Dunigan, who has forgotten more about supply than this writer and many others will ever know, joined the team and it quickly became apparent that this team is capable of much greater things.
Having successfully supported CRIMSON THUNDER the department set its sights on the big event of 2021 ‘IRON STORM 2’. Obligated to deliver a fleet drawn from across 3(UK)Div to the KRH BG, this is by no means a huge endeavour and one at which the RQMS (T) and the RFM excel. Over 300 platforms moving around the UK into new hands, all of which requiring his delicate input to ensure its smooth transition. ‘Spinning plates’ is an oft- used phrase which describes this kind of activity pretty well, with the additional challenge of individuals attempting to knock those plates off as often as possible.
EX IRON STORM 2 was to be the biggest deployment in the UK for many years and would not only require a huge fleet to be delivered into the hands of its individual subunits but also see the department deploy as part of the exercise. Armed with the knowledge that A2 had been untested in this arena for quite some
