time the team would seek to pull together those lessons identified so many times before to ensure a successful outcome. A2 would not only need to operate in a tactical manner but also chase after that hugely important statistic, ‘availability’. Cpl Wilson proved to be a font of knowledge having been one of the very few soldiers within the department with proven experience. He was quickly employed by the QM(T) in an advisory role and proved to be very effective during both build up and throughout deployment.
The first part of deployment was a move to Castlemartin Ranges, a tactical deployment that included a full A2 echelon. Availability was pitched as the team’s main goal, this challenge was accepted with the vigour of a team seeking to prove itself. At no point dur- ing the deployment to both CMR or SPTA was this focus lost and this writer remains very proud of the way the team executed this tasking, the pinnacle of which was the 94% availability on hitting the line of departure on SPTA. This is very much thanks to the professionalism of everyone within the team with SSgt Dunigan once again proving that no materiel is beyond his abil- ity to resource.
It was unfortunate that during the initial stages of SPTA that the exercise was halted due to issues uncontrollable by the KRH BG. The team had already proven that it was more than capable of operating tactically under the watchful eyes of both WO2 Joel Thorpe and Sgt Craig Noble. Whilst this proved to be an anti- climax, the G4 team quickly shifted to enable a hand over of the G4 sphere to the CSS TF moving into the vacuum. It was also necessary to start providing the mechanism by which the fleet would be handed back to its original owners. Ownership of which rested with the very capable WO2 Chris Brown due to this QM(T)

scurrying off to qualify as a proper QM. As we look forward to 2022 and what’s on the immediate horizon it will be adventures in Germany, Poland and the Baltic States. I have no doubt the department will continue to deliver, with a smile on its face, and ensure that the Regiment meets all of its ‘punchy’ outputs.
