Getting out and about...
Thrapston Community Library is open four days a week on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings 10am-1pm and on Thursday 2-5pm. The library has had many new books in over the last twelve months including books for young adults and young children.
The children’s area has been rearranged to create more playing space and the teenage and young adult books have been moved to a more relaxed space. There are two activities on Friday mornings for young children, namely Bounce and Rhyme between 10.30-11am and Rhyme Time between 11.30am-12 noon. On Saturday mornings, Brett, one of the volunteers, is reading stories to any children, who would like to come along and listen to them.
A volunteer is needed to promote and carry out children’s activities within the library, this
position would suit a retired Primary School Teacher or a Learning Assistant and for anyone who is interested, please request an application form from the Library.
The library is also available, at a competitive hire fee, for small groups to meet up, either during opening times or when it is closed.
Exciting plans are in place, which includes the installation of a customer toilet and a meeting room extension to the rear of the building. The financing for this improvement has come from the new house developers.
