MAYOR’S CHARITY IRISH BAND NIGHT
On Saturday 19th March, Mayor Val Carter hosted a Charity Irish Band Night in the Plaza Community Centre to raise money
for NDAS (Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service). Guests arrived in their finest and were treated to a delicious three-course dinner and superb live music from Ceilidh band, Gypsy Rogues.
The evening was a great success and enjoyed by all, with classics including ‘Come on Eileen’ and ‘Galway Girl’ ensuring the dancefloor was never empty!
The raffle featured fantastic prizes including vouchers for local businesses, luxury
hampers and tickets for days out, with £744
raised from this alone. In total, the evening raised a fantastic £1,426.71 for NDAS and the money will go towards the provision of safe accommodation for victims and their children, as well as the seven refuges across the county and the many support groups.
Thank you to all the businesses who donated prizes for the event.
