THRAPSTON CHARTER FAIR
Your town needs you!
Thrapston was granted a Market Charter in 1205 by King John and has celebrated this market status with a Fair every year on the last Saturday in June since 1991with only two cancellations,1998 due to flooding and 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Each year the Charter Fair is organised by a small and hardworking committee who meet to plan and prepare a great event that is well supported by the local community. Shops
and other local businesses are encouraged to get involved as well as local clubs, societies, charities, crafts people, food and drink vendors, churches, and small independent traders. With the addition of a fun fair, petting zoo, free games, classic cars and live bands it becomes a grand afternoon with something for everyone.
BUT five long serving members of the committee will be retiring at the AGM in September. We are grateful to them for all they have contributed to Thrapston Charter Fair over many years, but the time has come for new people to help out and this is where you come in.
Can you help set up on Saturday 29th June for an hour in the morning?
Can you help by selling ride tickets for an hour in the afternoon?
Could you come to the AGM in the Plaza at 7.00pm on Thursday 12th September to find out what’s involved with being on the planning committee?
Are you going to be our next Treasurer?
Thrapston Charter Fair will only continue if people like you can offer it some time, either on the day or during the year. Please consider this carefully, come to the AGM or email thrapstoncharterfair@gmail.com for more information.

Lisa’s Wing Walk
On Sunday 23rd June I will be doing
a wing walk to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in memory of my brother, who passed away last December after a two and a half year battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme.
