Lighting up Thrapston, the Big Switch On at your house!
To say 2020 hasn’t gone as planned would be an understatement of epic proportions. We’ve had to cancel almost all of our
Town Council events including the annual Christmas Festival. The event normally brings crowds of residents and visitors alike to Thrapston High Street for an afternoon of family-friendly festive fun. This year we still want to try and channel Thrapston’s joyous community spirit while still keeping everyone safe. Government guidance says we can’t hold big events, but we can still have a Big Switch On. Well, sort of... at a distance. We would like you and others in your road to consider turning on your own outdoor lights/ decorations at home all at the exact same time on Sunday 6th December at 6pm.
We ask that residents adhere to whatever government guidance is in place by then; remain socially distanced from those outside your household/bubble and stay safe please.
A special thank you to residents on the Nine Arches estate who suggested this fantastic way for Thrapston to come together in celebration.

We are lucky to have had some really entertaining speakers via Zoom, to replace our monthly meetings at The Plaza. On Friday 18th December, our speaker, Dr James Taylor, will be talking about “The History of the British Postcard”.
