£20,000!!! What an achievement! I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in every school and all workplaces across the County!
We had set up the separate Crazy Hats Account within the hospital so that we could keep tabs on the total and to ensure all the money would be ringfenced in readiness for when the new Breast Unit was being built and used. We also sent out receipts, a certificate, sponsored by the Evening Telegraph, and thank you letters to all donors. The feedback was incredible and just as that one child asked what we would be doing next, so too, did many adults.
