When did you discover your love of craft?
We have both been keen on making cards and crafts as hobbies for quite a few years now.
where we regularly share our new creations. We have also been invited to attend other local craft fairs and have enjoyed the opportunity to spread our wings a little and get to know other crafters.
Who works with you, or do you go it alone?
We work as a team of two, meeting up once a week in Ali’s craft room to create our new items.
When was Home Birds established?
Just before the first lockdown we
decided to start crafting seriously. We hoped to take our crafts to local fairs. Our items are very reasonably priced as Home Birds is a hobby and any money we make is then reinvested in purchasing materials for our upcoming projects.
half the fun is learning as we go
This allows us to choose what our next designs are and it is a perfect way to bounce ideas off one another.
What is the best thing about your job? Meeting up and sharing ideas over cups of tea.
What products do you make? Our main products are Fairy Light Bottles and Pebble Art Frames, however, we try to handmake gifts and presents that fit with seasonal occasions and are constantly on the look out for new ideas.
Tell us more... We particularly like to make personalised gifts and enjoy trying out new techniques, half the fun is learning as we go.
Do you sell in other places as well as the indoor market? We have a Facebook page
What makes being in Thrapston Indoor Market such a perfect environment? The Committee that organise the markets are a great bunch of people, who advertise the market which ensures a good footfall.
What’s your best selling product? Memorial Fairy Light Bottles and Pebble Art Frames.
What’s your favourite piece? Our favourite piece is always our latest creation, which at the moment are personlaised Wedding Hangers for the Bride and her party to hang their dresses on. www.facebook.com/homebirdsthrapston
