Richard Sneddon a civilian ERI has delivered squat clinics and coaching techniques regularly to the AAPTIs in McKay Gymnasium to improve the con dence, ability and knowledge of the instructors. Sgt (SI) Ben Charlton and Sgt (SI) John Palmer RAPTC have presented good practice on Regional In-Service Training (RIST) forums on RPE, RAMP warm ups and the introduction of the Illinois agility circuit to bene t the latter stages of rehab.
As with any assignment, it is time for WO2 Prior to move on promotion to take on his new role of 20 Armoured Brigade’s SMI PD in Sennelager; using this opportunity, he wanted to highlight his appreciation to the team and thank them for all their hard work over the past 3 years at the PCRF in ITC, thoroughly enjoying ‘most’ of it.
REGIONAL REHABILITATION UNIT COLCHESTER

RRU Colchester has been extremely busy this year, delivering spines, generals and running re-education courses. There has been one 3 week course a month throughout the year
including a one week assessment period. We take patients from the entire East Region however, most come from 16 Air Assault Brigade, with 2 and 3 Para making up the bulk of our patients. On top of this, the Military ERI’s make time for career courses, CPD and sport.
WO2 (QMSI) ‘Jacko’ Jackson RAPTC has competed in a number cycling events and is currently in training to head out to Spain. Since arriving at the RRU from Headley Court, Sgt (SI) Baz Beattie RAPTC has competed at a number of Bodybuilding events including a World Championship in Norway. Sgt (SI) Rich Phillips RAPTC has completed a number of AT courses.
In addition to getting away for sport and AT, all the military ERIs have been busy of ciating at a number of Regimental

and Army level events including swimming and boxing. Sgt’s Baz Beattie and Rich Phillips have also found time in the busy RRU calendar to complete SNCO CLM Part 3. This is on top of weekly in service training being laid on by various members of both military and civilian staff, inviting members of Regional staff to attend from as far a eld as Headley Court. Topics covered have included everything from manual handling, sport speci c training crossover into rehabilitation and teaching the civilian staff about what military tasks are required by soldiers on top of tabbing and lifting and carrying.
The RRU have also supported Colchester PCRF due to a gapped military ERI post, Sgt Baz Beattie has supported the very busy staff with a population at risk of 2000 in order to have a
continuation of care for the patients within the Garrison.
